Jeroen Steehouwer (b. 1967) is a comic artist, illustrator, and live artist from Amsterdam. Since the beginning of his career, he has moved effortlessly between comics, illustration, and visual communication. With his distinctive drawing style and eye for detail, he has built a versatile body of work that appeals to both readers and clients.
His first work appeared in well-known comic magazines such as *Sjors* and *Sjimmie*. This was followed by a variety of comic series, including *Fanteasy*, *Roy Bellevue*, *Katja*, *Hilary King*, and *Veertigers*. He also published several comic books, such as *Waarvan leeft de mens*, *WOK*, and the anthology *Hildebrand Comix*. In all his work, he combines humor, keen observation, and a strong sense of visual storytelling.
In addition to his work as a comic book artist, Steehouwer is also active as an illustrator. He created illustrations for Disney stories, including *Winnie the Pooh* and *Little Hiawatha*, and worked for educational publishers such as Malmberg and Wolters Noordhoff. His drawings thus reached both a broad audience and the educational sector.

Through his studio, Draw up!, he focuses on live drawing and creating visual aids for organizations. During meetings, workshops, and presentations, he translates conversations and complex topics directly into clear, visual summaries. In this way, he helps clarify ideas and fosters better understanding and collaboration. In recent years, he has worked for clients including Zwijsen (Taaljacht), Erasmus School of Law, APF/Savills, Marktplaats, Achmea, and Asics.
The Amsterdam Puzzle is a personal project that brings together various aspects of his work. The detailed city scene is a loving tribute to Amsterdam, a city that has inspired him for years. With an eye for architecture, atmosphere, and the many little stories that unfold on the streets, the puzzle invites you to discover new details every time you play and to experience the city in a playful way.
